Dr. Cori Cooper
Dr. Cori Cooper is a native of Sparks, Nevada. She completed her undergraduate studies a Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno. She received her Doctorate of Optometry with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2006. Dr. Cooper has vast vision and eye health care experience, including training rotations at eye care surgical/medical centers in the western United States. An active member of the Nevada Optometric Association and Los Medicos Voladores (The Flying Doctors), she strives to provide quality care to the local community as well as traveling to serve underprivileged communities around the world. Outside of Family Eyecare Associates, Dr. Cooper is enthusiastically involved in local theatre. She enjoys spending time with her family, loves sunshine and beaches, and is a proud mother to her athlete daughter, Stevi Cooper.
Dr. Denis Humphreys
Dr. Denis Humphreys is a Sparks native who received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1970. He attained his doctorate of Optometry in 1974. Since his graduation in 1974, Dr. Humphreys has been in private practice in Sparks, Nevada. Dr. Humphreys provides comprehensive optometric care with and emphasis in medical eyecare and laser vision correction management. He has worked on the Sparks Planning Commission, and is currently the chairperson of the Washoe County Board of Health. He is active as a member in the Sports Vision Section of the AOA. Dr. Humphreys and his wife Rocky, enjoy all outdoor sports including skiing, golf, biking, hiking and exploring Nevada and Lake Tahoe.
Dr. Evan Marchant
Dr. Marchant is a native of Bountiful, Utah. He graduated with honors from the University of California-Berkeley School of Optometry in 1991, having previously received an undergraduate degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University. Dr. Marchant provides full scope optometric care with an emphasis in contact lenses and specialty contact lens fitting. He also has a keen interest in color vision and provides color vision evaluations and counseling regarding color vision deficiencies. He is an active member of the Contact Lens Section of the AOA. He and his wife, Julie, have eight children and one grandson. They enjoy many activities together. Dr. Marchant enjoys the outdoors and working with the Boy Scouts, coaching youth athletic teams, and various home improvement projects.
Dr. Troy Humphreys
Dr. Troy Humphreys, the son of Dr. Denis Humphreys and husband to Dr. Becky Humphreys, received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1996. He received his doctorate of Optometry with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2000. Dr. Humphreys received his fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) in 2005. Dr. Humphreys has interests in general medical eyecare, dry eye treatments, refractive surgery management including LASIK, PRK, and Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICLs), and spent internships at Bassett Community Hospital in Fairbanks, Alaska and the Pacific Cataract & Laser Institute in Bellevue, Washington. Dr. Humphreys enjoys the outdoors and is an avid skier, hiker, and mountain biker and enjoys sharing these passions with his wife and two young children. He is a licensed private pilot and loves to explore the skies above the Western US. He further enjoys traveling to provide eyecare to the less privileged. He has served thousands of patients in Costa Rica, Honduras, and Mexico during the past 10 years, and will continue to do so.
Dr. Becky Humphreys
Dr. Becky Humphreys (married to Dr. Troy Humphreys) is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1999, where she concurrently completed a Master of Education, Visual Function in Learning degree. In 1999, Dr. Humphreys was an in-house resident at the SUNY College of Optometry in Manhattan, NY, where she studied pediatrics, vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation after traumatic brain injury. Dr. Humphreys’ emphasis at Family Eyecare is pediatric and family vision. She also oversees the Vision Therapy clinic for Family Eyecare Associates. Educating children, teachers, and school nurses on vision and how to spot vision problems is one of her favorite activities to do, as an eye doctor! When she is not in the office, she plays mom to her two young children. The children patients of Family Eyecare Associates adore “Dr. Becky”, and there is good reason why they do!
